Professional Statement
Jaclyn has her PhD in mental health counseling, has worked in the field for 15+ years, and is an adjunct professor teaching future therapists at the University of Central Florida.

Jaclyn has worked with many individuals around anxiety (social anxiety, general anxiety, panic attacks/phobias), depression, and couples counseling and is getting training to enhance her knowledge around Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Jaclyn can provide Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and is very familiar with the adjunct therapy Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) to provide along with sessions. ACT can help us respond differently to intrusive thoughts and ruminations. ACT often focuses on acceptance - it teaches us to experience how to allow thoughts to come into the mind without changing them or needing them to be different and learning to accept and tolerate anxiety. Techniques in individual and couples sessions are trauma informed.

Many who have worked in couples counseling  sessions with Jaclyn before have noted that both partners experienced feeling supported and heard and that there wasn't bias towards one individual in the room. Oftentimes OCD doesn't just impact the individual, it often impacts the family and our relationships. Sometimes, it can be beneficial to have specifically a couples therapist assist with processing how OCD has impacted the relationship and helping couples/family members shift out of accommodating OCD patterns and to learn how to support in a way that is congruent with your individual therapy sessions.

Jaclyn also has particular expertise in working with couples around conflict resolution, improving communication, parenting, and divorce/separation.
Jaclyn is trained in Gottman techniques and Structural Family Therapy for couples and family counseling.
Message to clients
"I would tell clients they can be themselves in session and feel comfortable opening up and sharing anything they want without feeling judged. I have had clients say they feel excited to start working with me after meeting them in the first session and that they feel comfortable in session with me. I want any future clients to know that I will help them to  feel more at peace in their everyday life."
