Professional Statement
Hello! I'm a board-certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor who's experienced in working with survivors of trauma and abuse, the LGBTQ+ community, college students, and U.S. military service members, veterans, and their family members. I provide individual therapy to adults 18+ and specialize in treating anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attachment, relationship issues, life transitions, stress, gender identity/transgender health, and PTSD.

My approach to therapy is relational, intuitive, and trauma-informed. I believe that curiosity, creativity, and compassion are essential qualities for a therapist to embody, and I make it my goal to bring these elements into every session with every client.

I utilize mindfulness, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT),  Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and relational, and psychodynamic approaches.

The subtypes of OCD that I am most familiar with are scrupulosity, "just right," magical thinking, contamination, and existential.
Message to clients
My personal style is curious and conversational. I don't like to be overly rigid with the structure of sessions; I prefer to work intuitively and use the strategy of "asking the right questions at the right time" to gently guide my clients to a deeper understanding of themselves and their situations. I've received feedback from clients that my voice is soothing, that I ask good questions, that I'm insightful, and that I've given them a new perspective on therapy .

We'll also learn valuable life skills such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and response prevention. The insights and self-awareness you'll gain during therapy can ultimately empower you to make lasting positive changes in your life.
