Professional Statement
Lauren is an LMHC in Florida that specializes in working with individuals on anxiety, depression, OCD, and perinatal concerns (miscarriage, infertility, etc). When being trained in ERP, she  worked in intensive outpatient settings with clients experiencing severe OCD symptoms and has also worked in settings that specialize particularly with perinatal concerns. Clients have described working with Lauren as very validating, that she encourages hope, that she is consistent with follow up, is 'real,' and that she provides helpful resources and worksheets.

Subtypes of OCD that Lauren is most familiar with are Harm OCD, Sexual Intrusive Thoughts, Perinatal/Postpartum OCD, Contamination OCD, Scrupulosity (religious based), and "Just Right OCD." She has also worked with partners to help them understand OCD and assist in supporting their partners without accommodating the OCD.

Theories of counseling that she utilizes are Exposure Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy informed techniques.

Lauren's sessions are less structured and focused on what the client discusses, with her being gentle yet willing to push to build insight. She asks more questions than giving 'advice.'
However, when working with clients with OCD, sessions are structured through ERP.
Message to clients
"Starting counseling can evoke a lot of emotions, and you show incredible strength by considering to take that step. I believe every person has a unique life story, and therapy provides space to explore how to become the best version of yourself. Whether you are challenged by thoughts, feelings, or behaviors (or all of them!), I promise to create a supportive and individualized environment where you can feel safe to process, validate, and move towards solutions. I do not want you to feel stuck any more - you deserve to live a life that you enjoy, one where you feel free and happy! Being in the therapy space is the biggest honor for me, and I hope to have the opportunity to see you there soon."
